2024 Medians

The annual Vermont Bond Bank Financial Medians are now available. These benchmarks are the only Vermont-specific source of financial bench-marking data available to governmental units across the state.
 
This year's data, based on 2023 financial data, indicates continued financial health for governmental activities but weakening ratios for water / sewer enterprises. These are the first medians available following the 2023 summer flooding. Visit page two of the report to review the 2024 summary observations on the financial health of Vermont's local government, school districts, and water/sewer enterprises.

Continued from 2023 are medians for population cohorts with between 2,000 and 6,000 and over 6,000.

Full observations are included within the report as well as comparisons to national benchmarks.
